How to get Googoo Points
What are these “Googoo Points?”
Googoo Points (or GP) are the Googoo Times’ way of rewarding members for contributing to all things Googoo.
So? Why should I bother?
Well, clearly the foremost reason is because you are kind, wonderful people, who wish to help the Googoo Times out of the goodness of your own hearts. God bless you! The secondary reason would be that by collecting up lots of GP you can win prizes. Each July points are totalled and the top four scorers receive prizes. If you’re the ambitious/competitive sort, you can aim toward winning the prestigious (ahem) Baby Prize. Prizes are also awarded for Improvement and for the Best Page. For details on the way these prizes are allocated, see the boring small print below.
Prizes? What sort of prizes??
The winner of the Baby Prize not only gets the utmost honour of holding such a desperately sort-after award, but they also get CD album of their choice. The other prizes are confectionery-based and depend on the level of achievement. Hopefully even better prizes will be on offer soon.
Right, so how do I get me some of these GP?
The most obvious way would be to write an article of whatever sort for the Googoo Times or the website. You can email articles to thegoogootimes@hotmail.com at any time. Other opportunities to gain points constantly arise, and to get some ideas of the ways to get them, see the table below. The League Table which shows how each member is doing during the year is updated on the website quarterly.

Boring Small Print
The four babies with the most points are awarded the Baby Prize, 2nd, 3rd and Effort respectively. From 2007-08 the Improvement Prize will be awarded to the baby who has increased their total GP by the largest amount compared to all other babies. This will probably involve vaguely complex calculations which will be worked out next July. The Best Page is awarded according to a vote in June. To be nominated for Best Page you must write a Googoo Times page at least four times during the year. This is neat shortcut to winning a prize without having to compete with the GP giants who usually dominate the League Table after only a couple of months.
Googoo Management Team (GMT) reserve the right to alter the stated point scheme if it is felt it is being exploited excessively. However, they are unlikely to do so during the course of year.
